My Multi-Touch Table!
Over the past 4 or 5 weeks I have been building a multi-touch table. It is basically finished now...here is a demo video of myself using it...so fun to play with!

more website refining and name change
I have a new name now - 'Hand Made' - to suit the style more, and it also reinforces that that the students have put a lot of work into the exhibition.
Here is another refines version of the website, the coverflow has been made less 'Mac', so the images are displayed randomly rotated and scaled, giving it a messy look. This suits the style much better as the original cover flow was too linear.

So I've scrapped the other 3 ideas and now have a new one entitled 'Euphoria', meaning and the human emotion of the ultimate sense of happiness. Heres some artwork and ideas:
Style 1: textured 'Sketch book'

website mockup - browsing work

style 2: same style as the previous 'geometric' idea

website - explore a map to see student work

Project 2 - Concept and look and feel
(oh my god, why is it so friggen hard to layout the post!!!!!!!!!?)
My idea for this project is an experimental Flash portfolio website that will be optimised for touch screens. It will use touch gestures as a means for navigation, as well as the traditional 'point and click' navigation for users without touch screens. Multitouch is also a possibility to explore. In the back end of the website I want to have a mySQL database holding all the folio content, which will be retrieved using PHP and then read in by Flash. By building the website dynamically, the site will be much easier to update and be more accessible.
Here are some mockups I made for a possible look and feel:
-loading sequence: the coloured bars randomly expand as the loading progresses

-main menu: the loading bars animate on completion and turn into squares that become buttons.
-the pages option1:
when clicked, the buttons move and dock along the bottom. Content can be scrolled by clicking or touching and gradding up/down. A quick flick to the left will bring you to the next page, and a flick to the right will bring you to the previous page.

Mocha for After Effects
So i’ve been experimenting with Mocha for After Effects, the planar motion tracking program. Its pretty cool…here is my first attempt at replacing the image of a billboard in some shaky hand held video…

'The Seed' animation
This is a very cool animation I found about the life of an apple seed. Its created with stop motion paper animation in conjunction with hand drawn animation:

My favourite Motion graphics so far...
This would have to be my favourite motions graphics i have seen so far... the title sequence to James Bond: Quantum of Solace. I like the use of a mix of 3D as well as flat vector style images all compiled in a 3d scene, with effects like smoke from the bullets.
